Instructions for Authors
Welcome to Mental Health: Research and Challenges. We invite authors to contribute high-quality, original research that aligns with the journal’s focus on advancing mental health knowledge and addressing global challenges. Please review the following guidelines carefully before submitting your manuscript.
1. Scope and Article Types
We accept manuscripts in the following categories:
- Original Research Articles: In-depth studies with novel findings.
- Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses: Comprehensive reviews summarizing current knowledge.
- Case Studies: Reports on unique or rare cases with significant implications.
- Commentaries and Editorials: Thought-provoking perspectives on current topics.
- Short Communications: Brief reports of preliminary findings or significant updates.
2. General Guidelines
Language and Style
- Manuscripts must be written in English.
- Use clear, concise, and professional language.
- Follow scientific conventions for grammar, spelling, and terminology.
Formatting
- Submit manuscripts in Microsoft Word format (.docx).
- Use double-spacing and 12-point font (Times New Roman or similar).
- Include line numbers for ease of review.
3. Manuscript Structure
Title Page
- Title of the manuscript (concise yet descriptive).
- Full names, affiliations, and ORCID IDs (if available) for all authors.
- Corresponding author’s contact details (email and phone).
Abstract
- Maximum of 250 words summarizing the objectives, methods, results, and conclusions.
- Include 3-6 keywords.
Main Text
- Introduction: Define the problem and objectives of the study.
- Methods: Provide sufficient details for reproducibility.
- Results: Present findings clearly with appropriate tables/figures.
- Discussion: Interpret the results and relate them to existing research.
- Conclusion: Summarize the key takeaways.
References
- Follow APA 7th Edition referencing style.
- Include DOI links where applicable.
Tables and Figures
- Submit tables and figures in the manuscript where they are referenced.
- Provide captions and ensure clarity and high resolution (minimum 300 dpi).
4. Ethical Considerations
- Ensure adherence to ethical guidelines in research and publishing.
- Include a statement of ethical approval for studies involving human or animal subjects.
- Disclose any conflicts of interest.
5. Submission Process
- Create an account and submit manuscripts via our online submission system.
- A confirmation email will be sent upon successful submission.
6. Peer Review Process
- All submissions undergo a rigorous double-blind peer review.
- Authors may be asked to revise and resubmit their manuscript based on reviewer feedback.
7. Publication Charges
- Open Access Fee: $1800 .
- No additional charges for submission or review.
8. Post-Acceptance
- Authors will receive proofs for review before publication.
- Articles will be published online first, followed by inclusion in the next available issue.
9. Publication and Withdrawal Policy
Article Withdrawal
Withdrawal requests waste significant editorial and reviewer resources, especially at advanced publication stages. Authors are advised to:
- Verify the accuracy of facts and data.
- Ensure proper authorship attribution and permissions.
- Confirm agreement among authors on journal submission and authorship order.
Unethical Withdrawal: Withdrawal during advanced review stages or due to lack of author communication is discouraged. No refund will be issued for withdrawals after publication.
Withdrawal Charges
- Within 48 hours of submission: Free of charge.
- After 48 hours: A withdrawal fee applies, varying by the manuscript's stage in production.
Authors must provide a signed agreement from all authors before withdrawal. For further details, contact the editorial office.
